IN THE PRESENCE OF FEAR

I could hear the sounds
in their chests.
Their hearts pounding
and beating as if
they were going to burst
out their chests.

They had never
pitched an idea
before, and they wear scared.

telling me to "calm down".

Waiting patiently
for the Judges' decision.
While I wonder
how my champions would feel
if I tell them we lose.

We will be favoured!
We will win this!
I kept nodding my head
as I fixed the hands-free
firmly into my ears, and I heard...
